This course consists of the following:
Introducing the principles of safe operation of a Aerial Platform Lift
Instructing the individual how to evaluate operating skills
Introducing the regulatory bodies governing operators
Explaining proper record keeping

The OSSA Fall protection is a standardized course which is recognized by Suncor, Syncrude, Albian Sands and C.N.R.L. This course has been developed to train the end user and provide an awareness and introduction to Fall Protection and it’s legislation. The Fall protection course trains in the following areas.

The OSSA Firewatch is a standardized course which is recognized by Suncor, Syncrude, Albian Sands and C.N.R.L. This course has been developed to train the end user and provide an awareness and introduction to Firewatch, fire extinguishers and legislation. The Firewatch course consists of the following topics.
Class of fires
Operation of fire extinguisher
This Confined Space Monitor Training Standard has been established to provide Training Providers with direction as to the minimum training program content requirements to meet the needs of the OSSA Member companies. A training program meeting this Standard would typically require 4 hours to complete, depending on class size, number of instructors and any class room props used for practical demonstration and testing.
It should be noted that the training required to meet this standard focuses on the minimum training requirement needs of the End-User. Successful completion of this Confined Space Monitor training certifies the End-User to act as a Confined Space Monitor for Confined Space Level 2 and Confined Space Level 3 entries and may certify the End-User to engage in Confined Space Level 1 Monitor.

In an effort to streamline the new worker orientation process and to further support the Oil Sands Safety Association’s goal to standardize these types of activities within the Oil Sands region, we are pleased to announce the rollout of the OSSA Regional Orientation Program.
Upon completion of the OSSA Regional Orientation Program a worker will be able to present their credential to any of the Oil Sands Safety Association Owner Member sites (Albian Sands Energy Inc., Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., Suncor Energy Inc., and Syncrude Canada Ltd.) as proof of completing the required site access orientation.
