• The Red Seal is an inter-provincial certification. Individuals who hold that ticket are certified as a journey person for the particular trade or occupation inter-provincially across the country. If you are certified in Alberta you will only need Red Seal certification if you plan to work as a certified Labourer outside of Alberta.

 

• If you are a trainee and wish to become certified the same process will continue. You will write the Provincial CCL exam and become certified in the Province of Alberta. Once you complete this process you are qualified to write the Red Seal Exam.

 

• If you are an uncertified Labourer and wish to become certified you will take the CCL upgrading class as before; however you will write the Inter-Provincial Red Seal Exam.
